On Wednesday January 16, 2019 the Whitman community gathered to thank Representative Bill Keller for his years of service.
The Whitman Council presented a certificate of appreciation for all of the work Representative Keller has done for our neighborhood.
Representative Elizabeth Fieldler and State Senator Larry Farnese presented a citation to Keller in appreciation of his service to the community. Councilman Mark Squilla also honored Keller on behalf of the city of Philadelphia.
Thank you to everyone who came out to thank Representative Keller!
Whitman Christmas Food and Toy Drive
Whitman Council would like to thank the following for their help and support with our Food and Toys for Christmas Drive. Because of their generosity we were able to distribute 93 Christmas baskets and toys to 230 needy children in the South Philadelphia Community. We couldn’t have accomplished this task without all your help!

Join us for the January Community Meeting of the Whitman Council. Meeting takes place in the basement of the Mt Carmel Church.
Join us for our January Board and Zoning meeting. We will have 2 zoning issues to discuss at 6:30 pm. The Board meeting will follow at 7 pm. We will be honoring Bill Keller for all he has done for our neighborhood. Please come out and show your thanks!!
Zoning Issues:
2349 S. Lee Street – the erection of a third floor
addition and a rear addition on an existing attached structure. For the erection of a roof deck and roof deck access structure for use as a single family household.
2501 S. Philip Street – the erection of an attached structure with roof decks and roof deck access structures, for use as two (2) dwelling units (two family household living)

Spooktacular Halloween Bowling Bash
Join us on Sunday 10/28/18 at South Bowl for a family friendly afternoon of bowling, food, kids activities, games, candy, raffles and more! Halloween costumes encouraged. Bring your friends and meet other members of the community. Price of admission includes bowling, shoes, soft drinks, light bites, face painting, candy and more. Event runs from 2 pm- 6 pm.
Ticket Prices:
Adults: $20
Children Ages 3-12: $10
Children 2 and Under: Free
Tickets can be purchased at the Whitman Office Monday -Friday 8 am - 4:30 pm or at the door on the date of the event.
